Jack Morton Rings in a Jet-Set New Year

Not only is New Year's a time to celebrate but also an opportunity to regroup and look ahead. Accordingly, Jack Morton Worldwide set its sights on a successful 2007 by ringing in the New Year with a trio of high-profile public celebrations in the US and UK.

For the third year in a row, Jack Morton produced The Mayor of London's New Year's Eve celebration. This year's spectacle combined large scale PIGI projections of the dreams and aspirations of young Londoners, followed by the 10-minute fireworks and lighting show over the River Thames and the British Airways London Eye. Not only were an estimated 150,000 able to view the spectacular show in person but millions more enjoyed the festivities on BBC One.

A few hours later in New York's Times Square, Jack Morton helped General Motors' Pontiac brand entertain an estimated 250,000 revelers gathered for the annual New Year's Eve ball drop. The quarter million willing to endure the temperatures were rewarded with a live concert from the Pontiac Garage stage high above Times Square. Pontiac's concert was broadcast live on MTV and on the Jimmy Kimmel Show. Jack Morton is part of a multi-agency team that manages and produces the Pontiac Garage outdoor concerts.

Finally, on New Year's Day in Albany, New York, Jack Morton supported the unprecedented "people's inauguration" to mark the new administration of Governor Eliot Spitzer. Jack Morton created event branding and design for a public reception for over 10,000 attendees held in the underground concourse of the Empire State Plaza. In addition to giving the event a common design vocabulary and theme, Jack Morton integrated activities that invited and celebrated citizens, from commemorative photographs to a "commitment wall" inviting citizens to express their wish for the state to its new governor.
